Who I Am & Why I Do What I Do
Hi! Thank you for visiting my site!
My name is Amanda.
I love colors. I love to dance. I love to drum. I love to be creative.
I come from a multilingual and multicultural family and country. As far back as I can remember I have been painting something, moving to music, making up my own songs and playing with self-exploration through self-expression.
When transitioning from Kindergarten to first grade something happened that would change my life for ever. All of a sudden and without a warning, I was instructed to draw and paint within the lines, learn a specific song and dance a certain way. Although I always enjoyed learning new things I remember feeling confused as to why everything, even self-expression, had to be done in a certain way. Fortunately I quickly learned to balance what I was being taught with what I intuitively and intrinsically knew to be true.
To me, engaging in any art-form is magical, freeing, healing and transcending. When in the flow I experience a profound communion to everything around me, to all that is and to myself. When I enter the portal of creativity and flow, I feel time and space pushing the boundaries of "what is" in order to make room for what "could be." When this happens I feel profound inner peace, harmony, transcendence and Divine alignment. It is my vision to share these experiences with others in my workshops and classes.
I created the term "Flying Colors" to depict my vision of combining movement, sound and color. For me, everything in life is nothing but energy. Sometimes the energy is dense and can be seen and sometimes it has a high frequency and remains invisible. Energy can also be felt, experienced, shared, transferred, absorbed and transformed. We can make the invisible visible through color, form and movement. We can also transfer our thoughts, feelings and intentions into a painting, a dance and a sound.

I began my vision with Flying Colors Part 1: Creativity/Painting and Drumming Workshops for Adults. The focus of these workshops is to experience making the "invisible visible" and "inaudible audible" by using both colors and sound (drumming). Everybody is welcome as the focus of the workshops is to explore creativity, self-exploration and self-expression. (Please go to "Classes/Workshops" for more information).

Flying Colors Part 2: Nomadic Energy & Movement!!!
The Big Why? ... To create a tribe... to unite... to empower each other to see and to be seen... to connect with our inner wisdom, our voices and our intuition... to remember we are not alone but rather connected at a very fundamental and primordial level... to witness and to be present... to raise our vibration and our consciousnesses... to come together... to prepare for the next step in our lives and in our evolution.
In these unique classes (suited for beginners), we will experience movement as a meditative practice. We will explore elements of Flamenco, Belly Dance, Chakra and Energy work while also integrating guided imagery and visualization. Every movement is carefully selected, intentional and purposeful. In addition to tapping into our ancient body wisdom, Nomadic Energy & Movement classes are designed to work on our energy field and chakras while promoting an overall sense of relaxation, peace, well-being and joy. Classes are conducted in dim and candle light. There will be live drumming at the end of each class!
Everyone is welcome! You do not have to be a dancer and no prior dance experience is needed! Nomadic Energy & Movement classes are designed to facilitate a sense of ease, flow, relaxation, personal; awareness and empowerment, self-expression and introspection while learning different movements within a meditative setting.
Please go to "Classes/Workshops" for more information.
Movement... Meditation... Contemplation... Creativity... Meditation... Contemplation... Movement... Meditation... Contemplation
It is my calling to combine all I have learned into a beautiful art form in which intentional, meditative movement is the portal to personal transformation on the sacred journey.
